Sustainable energy trade
The PV system generates more than the energy consumption of all the Legro production sites, which leads to a financially attractive business case. The remainder of the solar energy generated is sold to Scholt Energy. Scholt’s analysts then sell this energy on the market and Legro receives compensation for this. Legro therefore works completely energy neutral and supplies sustainable energy back to the grid.
Legro is a family business, and just like Scholt Energy, it values personal contact, which makes collaboration even more successful. The subsidy for the project was awarded in 2018 and the PV system was supplied on 1 March 2020.
About Legro
Legro has been a specialist in substrates and potting soil for almost 100 years. Its head office is situated in Helmond, where customised substrates are mixed for tree growers, sowing- and cutting companies and soft fruit cultivators worldwide.
