How to benefit from the
Market Premium
In the market premium model, plant operators receive an additional market premium for each kilowatt-hour of electricity fed into the grid, in addition to the revenue generated from selling electricity on the power exchange. This is particularly advantageous for operators of plants with a capacity between 100 kW and 750 kW, as they are required to participate in direct sales.
The market premium is calculated as the difference between the applicable value under the Renewable Energy Act (EEG) and the current electricity price on the exchange.
Example Calculation:
- Applicable value = 8.34 cents/kWh
- Exchange electricity price = 6.02 cents/kWh
- Market premium = 8.34 cents/kWh - 6.02 cents/kWh = 2.31 cents/kWh
In this case, as a plant operator, you would receive a total of 8.34 cents per kilowatt-hour, even though the electricity was sold on the exchange for only 6.02 cents per kilowatt-hour.
Important to note: If the exchange electricity price rises above the applicable value, the market premium is no longer granted, as your revenues are already covered by the market price.
In other direct sales models, you do not receive EEG subsidies but benefit from the ability to sell your electricity directly at the current market price on the power exchange. Redispatch 2.0
for you
With Redispatch 2.0, plant operators are required to flexibly adjust their feed-in to accommodate grid bottlenecks and ensure the stability of the power grid. This regulation applies not only to large power plants but also to renewable energy sources and smaller plants from 100 kW upwards.
However, implementing Redispatch 2.0 involves extensive technical, regulatory, and organizational measures. We take care of this process for you, ensuring that your plant remains optimally integrated into the grid. From communicating with grid operators to managing all necessary processes - we handle every step. This way, you benefit from a reliable and transparent implementation, allowing you to focus on your core business.
Requirements for Direct Sales
To transition your photovoltaic system or wind power plant to direct sales, certain requirements must be met.
Smart Meter
An intelligent metering system (Smart Meter) is required to record the electricity fed into the grid every 15 minutes and automatically transmit the data to the grid operator and the direct marketer. The metering point operator is responsible for the installation.
Registration
Before direct sales can begin, your photovoltaic system must be registered with the Federal Network Agency and the responsible grid operator. If your system has previously been operated under the traditional feed-in tariff, we will handle the transition to direct sales for you. The switch can be made at the beginning of any month.
Direct Marketer
A contract with a certified direct marketer is required for direct sales. With us, you gain direct access to the energy market while we handle the entire process for you. After signing the contract, we ensure a seamless implementation and take care of all necessary steps.
